Why are we so scared to discuss Pelvic Floor problems, especially after giving birth. Also why do companies slot this under Incontinence!!!!!

Well not off to a good start as did not really include information on my experience. I am a mother of 3 children (all fabulous). Anyway after giving birth to my 3rd child I noticed my pelvic floor muscles were not as good as they used to be. So I mentioned this to a few very close friends, who I must add were not keen to disucss this issue. So I searched the internet for further information. I know we are all told by our midwives to do our pelvic floor exercises every day, but do we remember! Then we read something and sit their doing the exercises for a short period of time which is not going to be effective. Through my search and disucssions I did find out people of all ages can suffer with weak pelvic floor muscles and that there are solutions on offer. I would love more magazines and online websites to cover this subject in more depth. It is not something we should be embarassed about. It is natural for us after childbirth (well some of us) to need a little bit of extra help. Also as a woman we all know whatever age we are strong pelvic floor muscles can be very advantageous in a relationship. Then again that is another matter. Finally I found a few websites selling online Pelvic floor toners. The prize varied dramatically, but the one I finally chose was the Femme Elite from Body Clock. This was due to the fact it offered more than the others as was Pelvic floor toner, muscle toner and TENS for pain. I needed all these as a busy mum, looking after the children and holding down a job. The pelvic floor is set, so all you have to do is insert and let it do it's work for 15-30 minutes and you are in control of the strength of the pulse. I have used this for the pat 2 months now. Can you believe it worked! I can now go to the gym, sneeze and run if I have to and no leaks!!!! I do not use it all the time, but will use at least twice a month to keep my pelvic floor muscles toned. You can use at home discreetly. I would use in the morning once everyone had left the house and sit down and have a good read for half an hour. I cannot tell you how much this has boosted my confidence, and just feel so much better, never having to worry if I may have a slight show of water. It has made my life easier with the children, and as I was always very active (in my younger days) I have taken up regular exercise again. There are products out there for any woman looking for a pelvic floor toner and I just wish companies would promote more and give us more information. There is nothing worse than looking for a product and it is listed under 'Incontinence'. I and many of my friends do not classify our problem as incontinence. I personally think these companies should come up with a kinder word, one we would relate to Pelvic Floor Problems and one we would not turn away from immediately and want to find out more. So for all you ladies who are looking for a product that can help you tone your pelvic floor muscles check out Athena, Body Clock Femme Elite and Mama TENS itouch sure. Also can I make a request to the writers of health colums Please, Please can you look at this subject and write about the products available to us today. It is a problem that many women need help with, but very hard to find good informative articles on the subject listed under women's health which is something me and many others relate too. We would love to see more articles covering this area. If it is dealt with early, you do not suffer long term problems. Well that is my two penneth!!!! Yvette
